World Schools Netball Cup Returns for Fourth Edition

World Schools Netball Cup Returns for Fourth Edition

The World Schools Netball Cup gets underway at Loughborough University this week as teams from across the globe get set to take part in the final WSG event of the 2023/24 academic year.

The action gets underway on Thursday (27th June) with the event’s opening ceremony in the university’s Sir David Wallace Sports Hall followed by a handful of group matches to get proceedings underway.

All teams will be in action on Friday and Saturday as schools from across the world look to take home the World Schools Netball Cup title. With the standard getting better and better with each passing year, we are looking forward to welcoming some of the brightest young netball players to the home of Loughborough Lightning and England Netball.

After some fantastic performances on court last year, Gordons School will be looking to retain their U13 crown this time round while a strong U15 field of 22 teams means we are set for a hugely competitive event in the middle age group.

The newly created U18 age category is sure to be a tight affair with Dubai College alongside a host of impressive English outfits, making for an enthralling three days of action.

Michael Corbett, of the World School Games Event Series, is looking forward to another year of exciting netball action at Loughborough this week.

He said: “It’s always a pleasure to be part of the World Schools Netball Cup and we are delighted to welcome a range of new schools to the event this year. As the last World School Games event of the academic year there’s always a bit of added excitement around the World Schools Netball Cup as students and staff look to finish their year on a high.

“With such fantastic surroundings, used by some of the top netballers in the world, we are privileged to be able to call Loughborough University home for the fourth time in the event’s history.”
