Welcome to the World School Games!

Welcome to the World School Games!

A warm welcome to Dubai and the 2022 World School Games. After two years without The Games we are absolutely delighted to play host to students, staff and spectators in the UAE once again.

This year will see U11, U13 and U15 school teams compete across the same weekend in what is set to be the biggest World School Games to date.
The Covid-19 pandemic rocked us all in early 2020 and at times during the months which followed we were unsure how long it would be until normality returned. With sport a hugely important part of the lives of students across the world we are very pleased to present the World School Games this year.

With two years off we have had the chance to reflect on the World School Games, and the World School Games Event Series more widely, and make some improvements which we hope will make each event more enjoyable for everyone involved.

This year the World School Games will see the addition of qualifying rounds for selected field events, a new athlete’s hotel in Jumeirah Village Triangle and a new venue for the football competition at the Sevens Stadium.

We are excited for you to join us in Dubai once again and look forward to welcoming your squads with open arms. We hope the chance to catch up with old friends and make new ones after two years of isolation and restrictions is an opportunity you are looking forward to.

As ever, the safety of all participants is our number one priority and we are committed to ensuring the World School Games is a comfortable environment for everyone involved.

The vision of the World School Games is to create a truly international event that brings together students from all over the world, breaks down social and cultural barriers and celebrates the talents and diversity of children from different countries, backgrounds and education systems.

The World School Games Organising Committee and delegates want to wish all competing schools the very best of luck. We must also offer a huge thank you to the coaches and parents for ensuring the athletes are fully prepared for an intense three days of competition.

Thanks also to our terrific sponsors and partners, all of which have contributed immensely to the all-round experience of The Games.

Finally, a word for the athletes involved this weekend: Enjoy every success, create lifelong memories and friendships and give your very best, both as a teammate, opponent and supporter.

Good luck!
