Welcome to WSG Golf

The World Schools Golf Championship is a pioneering event held in September in Scotland and encompasses some of the finest courses the famous golfing country has to offer.

Since the first edition in Edinburgh in 2024, the event has evolved to now take place over three days in St Andrews - the global Home of Golf and one of the most iconic sporting destinations in the world.

Fairmont St Andrews boasts two world-class courses (The Torrance and The Kittocks) that wind their way around 520 acres of stunning scenery and breathtaking views overlooking St Andrews Bay, while Ladybank Golf Club is widely regarded as one of the finest inland courses in the British Isles.

Over 100 golfers from across the globe descend on Scotland ready to represent not only themselves and their school on the world stage, but also their home country - with each golfer’s national flag appearing alongside their score. This added international prestige makes WSG Golf a truly spectacular and unforgettable event for any budding young player.

Aside from golf, we also pride ourselves on offering athletes unforgettable off-course experiences - such as professional event media coverage, special guest appearances, practice rounds at spectacular Scottish courses, and optional team excursions.

How it works

WSG Golf is a truly unique event and the first of its kind anywhere in the world. We are fully inclusive, bringing the best international talent from a variety of backgrounds together to compete in two competitions simultaneously.

Players will have the chance to compete on both the individual leaderboard (with Stroke Play and Stableford prizes on offer), and the team leaderboard where groups of four players represent their school.

Another unique aspect of WSG Golf is the opportunity for teachers and coaches to get involved in a dedicated category, with staff also able to compete both individually and as part of a school team.

The Championship consists of a Junior, Senior, and Teachers’ Open. School teams are mixed-gender and made up of four golfers in any of the three categories. Schools may enter up to four teams at a maximum, and any school groups with fewer than four players will be permitted only to compete in the singles competition.

Places at WSG Golf are allocated on a first come, first served basis and are confirmed upon payment of your Registration Fee.
